Friday 31st  - Dancin' Easy returned to the wonderful Bath Pump Rooms to bring in the New Year in style!  We had a brilliant night and met some really nice people.  Our thanks to Peter, the lovely man we selected to be our chief time keeper for the evening.  He was very carefully selected as he had a beautiful watch on a chain hanging from the inside pocket of his dinner jacket.  So, we took our cue from Peter, and all performed a rousing version of 'Auld Lang' Syne' at the strike of midnight.  One of our DJ's, Chris, was doing exactly the same in the other room of the Pump Rooms.

Champagne was then served and we all welcomed in 2011 in true style!  Our thanks to Graham and the whole team of staff at Bath Pump Rooms for doing such a wonderful job as always!

October 2010 News - A busy month with some celebrity performances ...

Sunday 3rd  - David and Kim spent all day at The Matara Wedding Fair performing with the duo and talking to people about the various band options we can offer.  We are looking forward to performing for some of you again soon. Matara Wedding Fair

Sunday 3rd - The Kim Cypher Band was privileged to be performing for a very special gig at the Salisbury.  The event was a birthday party for Mary but also a fundraising event as a tribute to her wonderful, late husband, Mike.  The event raised money for the Sue Ryder Leckhampton Court Hospice.  Well done Mary, Mike would have been very proud of you.

Friday 8th - Tonight the Kim Cypher Band performed for the launch of the Cheltenham Literature Festival.  Wow, what a classy gig this was!  We really enjoyed playing some nice laid back jazz for the 200 guests. KCB at The Cheltenham Literature Ffestival

Saturday 9th - Dancin' Easy headed off to Herefordshire to perform for Anne and Andy's wedding at Penrhos Court.  This was a wonderful evening with some lovely people.  We also enjoyed having Wayne Elliott on bass whilst Neil is away in Australia.

A great evening.  Thank you Anne and Andy.

Below is the e-mail they sent to us following their honeymoon.

"Hi Kim and Mike

We are back from our honeymoon and wanted to contact you all to thank you for the wonderful evenings entertainment you and your band provided - excellent in every way!  Our first dance was very special for us, followed by the swing music and then into the party - just what we wanted - thank you.  We have never booked a live band before and you made so easy - we wouldn't hesitate to recommend you in the future.  All of our guests loved it and said it was a perfect ending to a great day.

Regards

Andy and Anne"

Saturday 16th - A nice local booking for Dancin' Easy tonight, a Masonic Ladies Night at Pitville Pump Rooms.  Once again, we had Wayne Elliott with us on bass.  We had a great evening and the band was given much praise for our rendition of the 'Masonic Ladies Song' together with several other specific requests we had.  Thank you Haleh, we'd be very happy to oblige for your next Masonic event.

Saturday 23rd - Tonight, Kim, David and Mike were performing with vocalist Angie Cooper and bass player Mark Howell in 'The Angie Cooper Band'.  This was a great evening with lots of dancing.  Thanks everyone. Kim and Angie Cooper

Saturday 30th - Kim, Mike, David and Neil performed with singer Suzy Jacoby and Ben Scholl on keyboard for a set of background jazz at the 'All Your Life Celebrity Charity Ball' at Cheltenham Town Hall.

Saturday 4th - A busy day ..... firstly, David and Kim headed off to Beaudesert Park School for a spectacular wedding at a beautiful venue.  Of course, we would have expected nothing less from our good friend, Rebecca (an excellent wedding co-ordinator).  It was a real pleasure to perform for her on her special day rather then performing at somebody else's wedding that she had co-ordinated.  We were also very privileged to be selected to perform for her wedding.  No doubt she has countless musicians to choose from.

Thank you Rebecca and we'll see you again soon at the Wedding Fair!

Then, straight from Beaudesert school to Wick Farm Barn, Farleigh Hungerford, for Mairi and Graham's wedding.  This was our first time at this amazing venue and it really is stunning.  We had such a fun evening with Mairi, Graham and all their friends and family.  Everyone danced the night away, enjoying all of the band's music plus the great selection of music from one of our DJ's (including some Irish jigs as requested).  The only pause in the dancing was for the fireworks and we even continued playing through this to a couple of people who just couldn't tear themselves away.

Thanks Mairi and Graham.  We had a great night and we wish you all the very best for the future.

Monday 6th - Tonight we headed back to one of our more regular venues, Clearwell Castle.  We can now officially confirm that this venue has our absolute favourite bar staff working there!  This photo says it all really .... a very warm welcome, very gratefully received by the soaking wet band members (it was pouring with rain that night!)  Martin, we can't wait to return to Clearwell Castle again!! Waiting drinks at Clearwell Castle

We had a great evening performing for Hannah and Mark and they especially enjoyed our version of their first dance request 'You Do Something to Me'

Thank you Hannah and Mark and best wishes for the future.

Saturday 11th - While Mike jetted off to Milan for the Italian Grand Prix, the rest of us headed for another familiar venue, The Vineyard, Stockcross.  Thankfully, Lance filled Mike's shoes very well on drums, well not literally - nobody could fill Mike's shoes, they are size 11 after all!! Anyway, Lance did a splendid job, just as we knew he would.  He was the drummer with the well known 'Dance Band' with David and Ian for many years. Lance on drums

We had a great evening performing for Wayne and Gill and all their wedding guests.  David and Sarah perfected a splendid version of 'Chasing Cars' for their first dance.  After that, it was straight ahead into the non-stop dancing and we were even joined by Amy Winehouse herself on the dancefloor - well, her wig at least!

Anyway, thank you Wayne and Gill, we had a great night.  We wish you both all the very best.
The Vineyard - Stockcross, Newbury

Friday 17th - This was a great night for the Kim Cypher Band at the Somerset Arms for Aisha and Mad P's birthdays.  It was a totally mad night just as we knew it would be!  We had a Ukelele rendition of 'Valerie' plus some very special trombone playing from Mad P, not to mention the lively and fantastic audience!!

Thanks everyone!  We love you all at The Somerset Arms!

Saturday 18th - Back to another familiar venue, Homme House, for Helen and Mark's wedding.  Once again, we couldn't have had a more enjoyable evening - beautiful venue, friendly and accommodating owners, lovely people and a great fun night.  We loved the pick 'n' mix display Helen and Mark had made for their guests.  This kept more than just the children happy!  Plus, the first dance routine was very special indeed.  We don't think we've ever seen a routine performed by the whole wedding party before!  No wonder they chose 'Can't Smile Without You'.  Anyway, we were all smiling at the end of that.

Thank you Helen and Mark.  All the best from us.

Tuesday 21st - Phew, we are coming towards the end of one of our busiest months ... and we survived!  Tonight, the Kim Cypher Band was performing at The Venue Jazz Club for a 'live' recording gig.  Thankfully we had a fantastic audience who participated with great enthusiasm.

Thanks everyone!

Tuesday 3rd - David and Kim returned to Keynsham Manor for one of their sophisticated evenings of Dinner with 'Live' music.  As always, it was a brilliant night with some lovely people.  It was great to see some familiar faces and to meet some new people.  We enjoyed chatting to you all and hope to see you again next time we play there!

Saturday 7th - Dancin' Easy and Soundbites Disco were pleased to be playing locally at Bowden Hall for Kathryn and Matt's wedding.  It was a great evening and we met some fabulous people ......  Stan, who got up and played trumpet with the band!  He was fab and everyone enjoyed the spontaneous rendition of Watermelon Man!  Kathryn's Dad who very kindly treated us to a nice  glass of wine - thank you Kathryn's Dad!  Not to mention Kathryn and Matt who were absolutely LOVELY!!! And, Matt's sister, Sophie and her husband Tom, whose wedding we played at two years ago - my, how time flies!! Plus some of Kathryn's lovely friends who turned out to be some of the bands biggest fans!! They had seen us at one of the Thistle's Xmas party nights a couple of years ago and then again at Sophie and Tom's wedding.  They were excited to see us again and danced all night!  Thank you our biggest fans.  We'll see you again soon, no doubt. Dancing at Bowden Hall

Sunday 8th - The Kim Cypher Band performed for the first time at the Imperial Hotel in Stroud - wow, what an amazing night this was!  So many wonderful people came out to support us and made us feel so welcome.  It really was a night to remember and definitely one of our favourite gigs ever with the Kim Cypher Band! Thanks everyone.

Saturday 28th - Straight from holiday to Middleton Hall, Tamworth for Jo and Dave's wedding.  We had Andy with us on trumpet tonight as Ian was at another wedding as a guest rather than as a performer.  It was nice to have Andy back and his mum had baked us a 'Band' cake to celebrate his return for one night only.  Yum Yum.  And yes, we can confirm that it tasted as good as it looked!

Thanks Andy's mum!
The Dancin' Easy cake

We had a great night at Middleton Hall and everyone was so lovely and friendly.  We played some Rod Stewart songs especially for Jo's mum and Dave's dad plus our version of Aerosmith's 'Don't Wanna Miss A Thing' was just the ticket for Jo and Dave's first dance routine.

Thanks everyone, we had a great night and we'll definitely see you again sometime, probably for the next family wedding!

Friday 9th - Dancin' Easy and Soundbites Disco played for Gabrielle and Stuart's wedding at The Walls Club, Gloucester.  It was a fabulous evening and we wish Gabrielle and Stuart all the very best for the future.  Check out how smart David looked on stage as he was part of the wedding party.  He was the step father of the bride so had to perform twice that day, once with the father of the bride speach and then with the band! David at Gabrielle and Stuart's wedding

Saturday 17th - Dancin' Easy and Soundbites Disco returned to the familiar venue of the Kingscote Barn for Emily and Phil's wedding.  We had a lovely evening there and were very well looked after.  Thank you Emily and Phil.

Saturday 24th - David and Kim had a nice duo booking at Francesco Hair Salon in Cheltenham.  It was a charity drinks reception to present cheques to the charities Francesco's have raised money for throughout the year.  Thanks everyone, we enjoyed performing for you and well done for all that money raised!

Friday 30th - Tonight the band headed to Priston Mill for Paolo and Ed's wedding.  We had guest singer Suzy Jacoby with us tonight whilst Sarah's on her hols.  As always, we had great fun with Suzy in the band and the audience were up dancing all night.  When we finished at 11.55pm, after a couple of encores, one of the keen dancers looked at his watch and disappointedly said that we'd finished 5 minutes early ... actually, we were supposed to finish at 11.45pm prompt, but don't tell anyone!  It was nice that you enjoyed our music so much you didn't want us to stop.  Thank you very much Paola and Ed for making us feel so welcome. Maybe we'll see you at one of our public gigs again soon. Priston Mill for Paola and Ed's wedding

Saturday 31st - Sarah's back and we return to the beautiful venue, Upper Court for Rupert and Carolyn's wedding.  Well, this was just a perfect evening: lovely people, beautiful venue, keen dancers, free bar ... what more could we ask for?  We had a great time performing for all of Rupert and Carolyn's family and friends and we especially enjoyed the Scottish dancing.  My goodness, it's been a while since we played the 'Gay Gordons'!!  Thank you Rupert, Carolyn and Sue (Carolyn's mum), you were all lovely and we'd happily perform for you again anytime. Saturday 12th June - A welcome return for the band and Soundbites Disco to the Tibberton Summer Ball.  This was our fourth consecutive year and, as always, it was a FAB night!  The dance floor was packed throughout the evening and the band was even treated to a bottle of wine by a lovely lady from the Ukraine who danced non stop to the band's music!  Thank you very much lovely lady from the Ukraine!  A nice, chilled glass of Rose was just what was needed to relax and unwind after our performance.  Cheers and here's to the Tibberton Summer Ball! Tibberton Summer Ball

Saturday 19th June - A busy day for David and Kim as the duo and the band were performing for Billy and Michael's wedding in Bredwardine, Herefordshire.  It was a stunning setting on a hilltop with amazing views over the surrounding countryside and the River Wye.

The duo entertained the wedding guests during the reception and were delighted to receive a rapturous applause following their performance.  Later on, the band got into full swing, beginning with a set of 'swing style' numbers as requested by Billy and Michael.  The dance floor was packed as soon as we began with renditions of 'Mack the Knife', 'Sway', 'L-O-V-E', the Michael Buble favourite ' Everything' as well as many other swing favourites.  After that it was straight in to the lively party stuff.  We had a great evening!  Thank you Billy and Michael we wish you both all the best for the future.
