How much do you charge?
Are there any other charges above and beyond the quoted price?
Ah, the big question. This is the first thing most people
want to know, so we thought we would answer it first. The answer is: it
depends (but you knew we would say that, didn't you!). Our rates
are set according to the type of event, the playing times, start and
finish times, distance to travel and the popularity of the date in
question. Typically Friday or Saturday night private events have the
highest rate (other than New Years eve). The price we quote will be the
price you pay. We will never pass any "by-the-way" charges on
to you, ever.
How do we check your
availability, get a quote and book the band?
There are 3 ways. Simplest is to call us up (01242
236620) and speak to Mike or Kim, discuss the arrangements, we'll give
you a quote and if you are happy we'll get a contract right out. Send
it back with a deposit (usually 25%) and we're all set.
Second option is to complete our entertainment
planner. This gives us all the information we need to give
you a quote.
Final option is to send and email to mail@dancineasy.co.uk.
We will contact you to discuss things.
How can we hear what you
sound like and do you play everything live?
We have some sound clips that we hope will show
you that we
really can perform to the standards we say we can. We play all the
instruments live, there are no sythesizers or backing tracks. Just go
to the downloads page to
listen to the clips.
How long have you been
together?
Dancin' Easy has been playing venues all over the South
West for well over 15 years now. Together we have over 120 years
experience playing dance and party music
Are you experienced in
performing at wedding receptions?
Definitely, YES! The majority of Dancin' Easy ’s
engagements are now weddings. This is because we are renowned for our
outstanding performances and our high standard of professionalism.
Are they always the same
members, or do you use substitutes on a regular basis?
Dancin' Easy always has the same line up. Substitutes
are only used for holidays or to cover illness. Any substitutes used to
replace a band member are close friends of the band and are always
rehearsed before the engagement.
How many songs do you
have in your play list? What styles of music do you play? (Is it the
kind of music we want to have?)
We have more than enough material to meet your needs.
Dancin' Easy are a band which likes to get everyone on the dance floor
and normally perform either 2 x 60 minute spots or 3 x
40 minute spots decided by you on the night. See the song list for Dancin' Easy's
current repertoire. If there is a specific song on the play list you
would like us to play, mention this to us in advance as we frequently
alter the set list.
Will you learn a special
song for us if it is not already on your play list?
Yes. If you would like us to learn a specific tune for
your event we can usually do it if fits normal parameters. Obviously we
can't perform something from an opera or classical work but most pop,
jazz or standards can be arranged. We would need at least 30 days
advance notice. However, some people prefer the original version of
their special song. We always have our DJ set up available to play a CD
of the original artisit's version of any song you request.
Whilst on the subject of the
first dance, are you a little nervous stepping out in front of all your
family and friends? If you are, we are happy to recommend you to Sam
Jennings at Beaus and Belles. Sam is an experience dance teacher who
will help you put together your first dance. Vist her site www.dances4u.co.uk and
let her know we sent you.
What will you wear?
Dancin' Easy always dress smartly on and off stage.
How long do you require
to set up?
We usually take about 1 hour to set up. We try and set up
well before the event begins and people arrive. Sometimes the timing of
the event prevents this but as soon as the room is available we are
there. It is necessary for the band to carry out a 'sound check' to
ensure the sound quality and volume level is appropriate for the room
and guests.
Do you take breaks and
can you provide any music during the breaks?
The length of the breaks, indeed all the timing is
specified by you on the night to fit your schedule. We can provide
background or dance music through the PA system for no extra charge.
Do you expect to be fed?
While not required, meals are appreciated. We generally
arrive from 90 to 120 minutes before the party begins and leave about
60 minutes after the party ends. Most facilities are aware of this and
can make arrangements for meals for your vendors. We need to know in
advance if meals will not be provided so we can plan accordingly. We
also require somewhere to change into our stage clothes.
What are your deposit
and payment requirements?
Dancin' Easy requires a deposit of 25%. Payment is by
cash on the night (minus deposit) or by cheque 7 days before the
booking, if you prefer. Always make sure you have a written contract
with the band you choose and make sure you have all verifiable contact
details, postal and telephone, and a receipt for your deposit.
Do you have adequate
insurance cover?
. Dancin' Easy has public liability insurance for up to
£1,000, 0000. Many venues will not allow bands to perform unless
they have public liability insurance. All our elecrtrical equiptment is
also PAT tested to an approved standard.
Do you have a contract?
Are you willing to make additions to the contract to meet any special
needs we may have?
Yes, Dancin' Easy has a written contract and are happy to
make additions to the contract to meet any special needs you may have
and will inform you up front if the band is unable to accommodate these
special needs.
If you are booking the
band through an agency, will you be able to deal directly with the
band, or must you communicate with the band through the agent?
If you are booking Dancin' Easy through an agent you may,
with the agents approval, contact us directly to discuss fine details,
but out of courtesy and professional protocol, all matters relating to
fees and contracts should be referred directly to the agent. Please
note that if you book Dancin' Easy through an agency, you will not be
able to directly hire Dancin' Easy for any other event within 12
months, you must use the same agency.
